State Investigates Sysco

Last fall, the California Department of Public Health Investigated Sysco's use of dirty, unrefrigerated storage sheds for food.

NBC Bay Area had been investigating Sysco since the summer of 2013 when the Investigative Unit discovered Sysco trucks delivering chicken, pork, steak, turkey, bacon, produce, and other food items to outdoor metal sheds in the middle of the night. This reporting spurred on the state investigation and eventually led to an history $19.4 million in fines.
