11/4: FREE Indie Rock, Toys and Biscotti

The best things in life are free, on Thursday

Rock out with Rogue Wave! The Oakland indie band is playing at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco Thursday. Doors open at 8 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m. If you didn't get your free tickets yet, race over to Philz Coffee at 3101 24th St. at Folsom Thursday between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Tickets are limited.

Do you miss Mr. Potato Head and other childhood favorites? The Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia and the Classic Toy Museum has you covered. Take a tour of classic tinker toys, erector sets, ant farms and more. It's only 15 minutes south of the city and would make a great family outing. Admission every first Thursday of the month is free. They're open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Get your Italian Baroque on at Stanford University's Toyon Lounge. They are celebrating the birthday of composer Domenico Scarlatti with a free harpsichord, viola and singing performance of his music. It may seem a little old school - Scarlatti died in 1757 - but aren't you curious what a harpsichord is? Plus, coffee, italian sodas and biscotti will be served. Starts at 7 p.m. and it should last an hour.
