11/9: The Pixies at Fox Theater

Plus, photography Exsposeur and a movie that's out of this world

LUNAR CINEMA: Take a trip to outer space tonight without leaving the city- catch the new movie Moon. Sam Rockwell (Choke) plays a lonely astronaut on the far side of the moon. After three years of isolation with a service robot GERTY (voiced by Kevin Spacey) Sam is desperate to return to Earth, but just before his scheduled departure date very odd things start happening. Catch the Twilight Zone-esque work of director Duncan Jones (son of David Bowie) tonight at 7:15 or 9:25pm at the Red Vic Movie House.

PIXIE STICKS: Alt-rock kingpins the Pixies will make their live return to the U.S. this fall! Frontman Frank Black says the Boston-born quartet will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking release, Doolittle, by playing the album in its entirety at the Oakland Fox Theater. Catch the show tonight at 8pm.

ALL EXPOSURE IS GOOD EXPOSURE: At least when it comes to amazing photography exhibits. Vivian Sachs presents Exposeure, her collection of fashion photography along with a selection of personal works from her travels and adventures. The exhibit opens tonight at the Space Gallery. [Fecal Face]
