Just because Outside Lands is over doesn't mean the City has to go a whole year without another musical festival. In fact city dwellers don't have to go long at all. This weekend the On Land Festival will line up some of the coolest bands around at Cafe Du Nord and the Swedish American Hall for five days of rock, roll and sounds you can't quite put your finger on.
If indy beats are not your thing how about getting down with the pride of the East Bay and one of the definitions of the hypy movement E-40, as the rapper headlines Summer Jam 2010. The festival will feature some of the biggest names in hip hop, including Drake, Lloyd Banks and more.
Too loud? Have a nice relaxing weekend thumbing through some of your favorite comic books. The San Francisco Zine Fest returns to the County Fair Building on Sept. 4 and 5 with a little something something for everyone who likes to stare between the lines.
