After a housing search that spanned four years and included numerous home viewings and countless real estate rumors, The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Russell Crowe and his wife, Danielle Spencer have finally landed a new home in Rose Bay, Australia. The Oscar-winning actor and his wife ponied up around $10.1 million for the 1909 mansion that for reasons we'll choose to explore another time is curiously named Te Puke. The two-story home aka Te Puke features six bedrooms, about 3,600 square feet, and an arts-and-craft-styled second floor that was added in 1927.
According to The Real Estalker, the couple have been searching down under for the perfect home since 2007. Most recently in December 2010, the duo were reportedly intensely close to purchasing the gargantuan estate of the former ambassador to France, John Spender and his ex-wife fashion designer, Carla Zampatti. The purchase never came to fruition.
If the couple's arduous and time consuming housing hunt is eliciting even a glimmer of sympathy then you might want to know that Crowe and his wife still own two incredible Sydney-area residences. One is a $14 million penthouse in Sydney Harbor and the other is a outlandishly large 800-acre rural estate North of Sydney. Are you green with envy yet?
