Alvin's Scrumptious Coffees & Teas lost its lease and shuttered on March 27 after 35 years in business in San Francisco's Sunset District, reports the small community newspaper Sunset Beacon. Beyond the beverage service, the family-owned spot was also a place to enjoy a Greek or Egyptian snack such as baklava or Egyptian corn salad.The Azadkhanian family will keep its Burlingame-based roastery open, and continue to sell coffee to the public via its website.
