Join hundreds of caring individuals and corporations in supporting after school art classes by volunteering at The Imagine Bus Project’s fifth annual mirror auction and benefit gala, ART IS IN THE AIR.
Last year, this event raised over $140,000 to ensure that art education remains a part of thousands of underserved children’s lives in the Bay Area. This year, more help is needed than ever to assure a successful event and fundraiser for the kids!
On Thursday, October 15, 2009, art lovers and children’s advocates will bid on 25 mirrors and “mirror themed” artworks created and designed exclusively for this event by some of the area’s top artists and designers. Guests will sample food from eight of San Francisco’s hottest restaurants and raise their glasses to The Imagine Bus Project, the largest provider of after school art education in the Bay Area. The evening’s elegance will be matched with the artistic flare of live paintings, portrait illustrators, a photography studio, children’s art gallery, and wall-sized slideshows of the kids’ artwork.
This year ART IS IN THE AIR will take place at Terra SF, a chic art gallery in the heart of San Francisco’s SOMA District. The space pairs lofty ceilings with enormous abstract canvases and impressive views of The City’s night skyline. Event organizers are already working to secure in-kind donations that will keep our costs minimal, allowing 100% of sponsorships to directly support programs of The Imagine Bus Project.
