A random lottery will be held to distribute two pairs of tickets to next year's historic swearing-in ceremony to be held Jan. 20, 2009.
Congressman George Miller (D-Martinez) made the announcement today. "This election turned out to be different than any election before," said Miller. "I want to be able to give every constituent, including those who just recently engaged in the democratic process, a chance to receive a ticket to view Barack Obama's inauguration."
But there is a catch. The winners have to arrange their own transportation and lodging while in Washington, D.C.
All residents of district 7 are eligible. The deadline to register is Sunday, Nov. 30th at 11:59 PM PST on George Miller's website. The drawing will be held the next day.
Go to http://georgemiller.house.gov/ to register. Don't forget to let NBC Bay Area know if you're the lucky winner!
