Big Nate's Gets a Big Change

Give a former NBA star a little help with a BBQ and great things happen.

Basketball great Nate Thurmond recently teamed up with a pair from Fly Bar and Solistice and now just in time for the 20th anniversary party of Big Nate's BBQ, the restaurant will be serving up some changes.

New co-owner Matt Sturm tells SF Eater the restaurant will have new tables, chair and a paint job and the ingredients on the menu are getting an upgrade as well.

The pulled pork is now roasted for 12 hours as opposed to the previous six. Hot links are made in house daily, ribs and brisket recipes have been reworked and, by popular demand, mac n' cheese has been added as a side option.

Some how the management crew has managed to lower the prices as well. The anniversary party takes place on Oct. 9 at 1665 Folsom St. in San Francisco.
