Busy Weekend Ahead in the City

Various celebrations in San Francisco this weekend and next will affect traffic and bus lines throughout the city.

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival and Parade taking place in Japantown this Saturday and Sunday, as well as on April 18 and April 19, will  require the closure of Post Street between Fillmore and Laguna streets and  Webster Street between Sutter Street and Geary Boulevard from 5 a.m. Saturday  through 11 p.m. Sunday, according to a San Francisco Municipal Transportation  Agency spokesman.

Muni bus lines that may be affected are the 2-Clement, 3-Jackson and 22-Fillmore. Muni inspectors will be monitoring for service delays.

On Easter, the Annual Easter Sunrise Service atop Mount Davidson is scheduled to begin at 6:38 a.m., and the 36-Teresita line will provide  service to the area beginning at 4:45 a.m.

The Union Street Spring Celebration also will be celebrated Sunday, causing several closures at intersections through the Cow Hollow  neighborhood, and affecting routes of the 22-Fillmore, 30-Stockton and  45-Union Stockton bus lines.

In the Mission District, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence  Easter Parade will proceed from Dolores Park along Dolores and 16th streets  to the Castro neighborhood, with a celebration that will close a city block to traffic near Market and Noe streets.

Muni officials encourage event participants and those planning on  using buses or driving in the city to go to http://www.sfmta.com or call 311.
