SoMa: Down on Brannan Street, we have confirmation that Robbie Lewis—along with GM/wine director Mickey Clevenger— and Bacar have parted ways. The split was reportedly amicable and mutual. Quick background: Lewis previously took over the Bacar kitchen in spring of 2007, right after his stint as executive chef at Jardiniere (see here for more details). No word yet regarding his next move.
Meanwhile, the top toque void at Bacar will be filled by chef de cuisine Morgan Mueller, who has been promoted to the exec position. Mueller worked with Lewis at Jardiniere, has been at Bacar since the '07 overhaul, and has implemented the restaurant's in-house charcuterie program since then. And on the wine side, head sommelier Haley Guild will take on a larger role now that Clevenger is gone. [EaterWire]
