Cinequest begins next week and is ready to go with some powerhouse must-sees. This year's film festival will be showing the upcoming thriller Grand Piano, starring Elija Wood and John Cusack. The film is about a renowned concert pianist (Wood) that returns to the stage for one final performance, only to become the target of a sadistic cat-and-mouse game with a faceless sniper (Cusack).
The showing of the film will also include a conversation with the founder of Ain't It Cool News, Harry Knowles. An iconic figure among film geeks, Knowles’ legion of followers are led by his passion, which is evident in his writing, his search for the latest and greatest news, and through his strong connection with others.
There will also be a special showing of the outstanding Fruitvale Station. Los Angeles Times film critic, Kenneth Turan will lead a discussion of this legendary Bay Area story brought to the big screen.
