Colicchio Cooks on ‘Top Chef' All-Stars

No matter how many 'Top Chef' spinoffs Bravo dreams up, head judge and Craft overlord Tom Colicchio told The Feast at the James Beard Awards this year that he would never compete like his contemporaries on the established 'Masters' series. 'All Stars,' however, which premieres tonight at 10 P.M. with 18 of the hungriest fame seekers from seasons past, pulls out all the stops.

Beyond the biggest reason to watch—new judge Anthony Bourdain's zingers—you will see Colicchio himself throw down in a head-to-head cookoff with contestants. What else is new: Elia Aboumrad returns with a full head of hair, after buzzing it off in season 2; Jennifer Carroll, the frontrunner who fizzled in season 6 finally shows some backbone; and Spike Mendelsohn will have to prove he can cook more than burgers. The full list of competitors includes fan favorites like Richard Blais, Tiffany Faison, and Tiffany Derry. Watch the clip and decide if the show can reboot the series after the latest snoozer seasons. [The Feast]
