The Mission: Last week we floated the premise that the Mission is still tops among pizza neighborhoods, and now there's still more pizza en route. But it's not as sexy as, say, Flour + Water; rather, it's a local chain—Escape From New York—moving into the shuttered Tortas El Primo space on 22nd (Mission/Valencia), next door to Cafe Revolution and Lolo. By our count, it would be the fifth branch of the mediocre pizzeria, and considering how well chains have played in the Mission lately (for what it's worth, there are three SF American Apparel outlets), we'll be curious to see if the torches and pitchforks come out for this one.
