Not so long ago, a reader noted the first rumblings of construction in the MUNI graveyard at Cesar Chavez and Indiana. A good, old-fashioned WTF? showed up in the proverbial inbox not long thereafter. To the deets! Robin Chiang & Co. (RCCo) architecture firm is designing a new, extra-deluxe MUNI bus facility, which will spread over 5.32 acres of public land on Islais Creek, an industrial area being "reclaimed" for the project. Two buildings are in the works, creating work space for 300 employees; one will even house a free access library and labor history exhibit. Otherwise, expect to see about 165 buses lined up and ready to ride.
