Doyle Drive Replacement Goes Angst-Free

What's this now? Solving problems with mature, reasoned solutions? Doyle Drive's getting replaced, and apparently some grownups have stepped up to the plate to figure out how to fund the thing. No tolls, no "Marin commuter taxes" -- the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the Golden Gate bridge district will each pony up $80 million— along with "cost-saving measures" (this is where they lose us) the tentative plan is supposed to close the funding gap that originally would have been filled with Marin coinage. The current structure, which has received a hilarious and terrifying 2 out of 100 in structural integrity, will be replaced with a series of tunnels and ground-level sections, plus an elevated portion— all to improve views of CAMP the Presidio.
