SAN FRANCISCO—Who's ready for the 2009 Dine About Town and more tiny prix fixe menus that look like a bargain, but when you stop and think about it, aren't really a bargain in most cases? The restaurant list isn't out yet, but the dates are: January 15-31 and June 1-15. Lunches are $21.95 and dinners for $34.95. Now that so many restaurants are offering "recession" prix fixe menus, perhaps $35 isn't such a unique proposition? [EaterWire]
MARIN—David Haydon started San Rafael's Il Davide a dozen years ago, and now he's back after a three-year hiatus following a divorce: "I expanded my knowledge, studied Pan Asian cooking, researched innovative Italian cuisine and fusion style," Haydon says.
