EaterWire: Kabuki Needs Chef, Starbucks Wastes Water

FILLMORE—It's still less than a year old, but the Sundance's Kabuki Kitchen is dealing with yet another chef shuffle. Opening chef Vincent Schofield left only a few months in, and a Craigslist ad suggests that once again, they have lost an executive chef. You do hate to see that. [EaterWire]

'BUCKSWIRE—So, it turns out that Starbucks has a policy to waste vast amounts of water, according to The Sun: "The giant coffee chain has a policy of keeping a tap running non-stop at all its 10,000 outlets worldwide, wasting 23.4 MILLION litres a day. That would provide enough daily water for the entire two million-strong population of drought-hit Namibia in Africa or fill an Olympic pool every 83 minutes." For what it's worth, Starbucks has half-denied the accusations, kind of. [The Sun/BBC]

FILLMORE—Speaking of the Fillmore and Post general vicinity, Cassis will begin serving weekend brunch next Saturday. [EaterWire]

OAKLAND—Across the Bay, Mua is going to throw some opening parties this weekend, as seen on its website. It's a new project from husband-wife team behind Soizic and the closed Pastoral.
