Postrio Plans Big Overhaul, Hiatus

UNION SQUARE—Hot off the wire comes the heavy news that Postrio, Wolfgang Puck's 20-year-old San Francisco outpost, will be reinventing itself this summer. For some context, Bauer knocked the institution down to 1.5 measly stars a few months back. Now, we've learned that come mid-June, Postrio will cease dinner service (the hotel bar will stick around) in order to completely transform the design and menu. EDG (Bong Su, Postrio Vegas) will lead the redesign of both the restaurant and the Prescott Hotel, which is also being remodeled. As for the food side of things, the new menu concept and all that is still "in development." All in all, the restaurant renovation is slated for late 2010.
