Today is Fat Tuesday and National Pancake Day, so IHOP is offering one free short stack of pancakes per customer from 7a.m. to 10 p.m., with the hope that customers will make a voluntary donation to support local children's hospitals.
According to the IHOP site, there are two locations in San Francisco proper: Fisherman's Wharf and Lombard Street. There are plenty of more locations across the Bay Area.
