Through June 30, Saks Fifth Avenue will donate $35 (of the $40 purchase price) from this special Wet Cement tee - as seen here on Lipstick Jungle's Lindsay Price - to charity: water, securing 7 people in a developing nation clean water for 5 years per tee (today alone, 4500 children will die of water-related illnesses).
Last year, Saks raised over $500,000 for the charity, helping to build more than 100 wells that will serve almost 40,000 people in Central America, India and Africa - providing them with clean water for drinking, cooking and basic sanitation.
To help raise awareness, special black rubber bracelets are also available by the pair - one for you, one for a pal who cares - for $10, of which 100% of the proceeds goes to charity: water (each bracelet represents the gift of clean water for one person for five years). "We have been extremely impressed with the charity’s ability both to do great things and to show on their website how the money raised through last year’s Saks campaign has led to the construction and completion of individual wells,” notes Steve Sadove, Chairman and CEO, Saks Fifth Avenue, explaining that they will also be sponsoring an entire well for $5000 to enable a community of 250 to have clean water for 20 years. "The momentum going into the second year of the campaign is even greater because we've already seen the difference our support has made to so many people."
