Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society (Berkeley Humane) has an urgent need to place adult cats into loving homes before they are inundated with springtime kittens. To support placing as many adult cats into loving homes, the Petfinder Foundation and the Nestle Purina New Year, New Home Pet Adoption Grant provided $2,000 in support to underwrite the adoption fees of 25 adult cats.
“Adult animals make great pets but they are usually in the shelter longer than younger animals,” noted Jeffrey Zerwekh, Executive Director of Berkeley Humane. “This is especially true this time of year when we have people looking specifically for kittens. It can be heartbreaking to see these amazing adult cats waiting day after day for a new family to take them home.”
