The East Bay city of Newark is the latest to join the food truck frenzy for the summer. A new biweekly event called Newpark Street Eats kicks off this Friday (June 10) from 4:30-9 PM at the main entrance to the Newpark Mall in Newark. Organizer Pat Clarke, proprietor of the Fremont-based truck Grillstars, will assemble a rotating lineup of vendors for each installment; the debut will feature his mobile eatery alongside the Wow Truck, Pizzapimps, Louisiana Territory, Tikkabytes, and more. Clarke is also working with the Newark Chamber of Commerce to set up a food truck court for the city's Summer Fest Music Festival on July 9-10. [The Feast]
