Noise Pop Announces Initial Lineup

Music fest takes place Feb. 26-Mar. 3

Today brings word of the initial lineup for the next Noise Pop Festival, a music and film extravaganza held in multiple venues throughout San Francisco from Feb. 26-Mar. 3, 2013.

Highlights from the first announcement, which does not include specific dates or locations, include a DJ set from Amon Tobin, a famed Brazilian electronic producer who lives in Marin; a solo appearance from Jason Lytle, frontman of Modesto's recently reformed Grandaddy; and Oakland indie duo Rogue Wave.

Noise Pop offers a badge guaranteeing admission to most of the week's film screenings, workshops and panels, and non-seated concerts (a few big ones will not be included). A limited number of "Early Bird" badges are on sale for $125 until 10 a.m. on Dec. 17, after which the price increases to $150. Events will also be for sale individually on a yet-to-be-announced date. Even with dozens of choices to consider each year, the concerts tend to sell out quickly, making the badge worth considering.
