Oakland Woman Kidnapped for Prostitution

San Francisco prosecutors charged an East Bay man for allegedly kidnapping a woman in Oakland earlier this week and bringing her to  San Francisco to work as a prostitute.

Anthony Frazier, 29, pleaded not guilty this morning in San Francisco Superior Court to charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, human  trafficking and abduction for prostitution.

If convicted,  he could face several years in prison. Frazier is due back in court Friday.

Police say Frazier  forced the 20-year-old woman into a car in Oakland and drove her to San Francisco to work as a prostitute late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

Police spotted the woman in the street early Wednesday morning,  and she told officers what happened and  provided a description of the car.

Officers arrested Frazier at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday near Bush and Larkin streets.

The woman was returned home safely.
