Only in SF: Effective New “Barriers” at U.N. Plaza


A reader tipped us off to these new chains in UN Plaza seemingly meant to deter campouts on a popular patch of grass at McAllister and Leavenworth. Tipster claims they're doing something -- "I haven't caught anyone in my doorway in over a month!" -- but maybe that's because the campers are right where they always were. After such a short tour of duty, these "barriers" are already looking worse for the wear, with half of them tipped over.
