1) The Marina: Now that they've just about put the finishing touches on Taverna Aventine, Vintage 415's next project—the American gastropub going in the shuttered Bistro Yoffi space on Chestnut—was recently put under the shadow of fresh plywood. As has been said before, it's going to be a big redesign and likely won't open until next winter. [PLYWOOD]
2) Polk Gulch: It's highly possible that no other restaurateur—not Charles Phan, not Michael Mina—has more local projects currently in the works than Mr. Isaac Mogannam. We've hit on Grub and Zaytoon a few times, and above is a new interior shot from Booth. As you can see, It's still very raw, but compared to a few months ago, you might be able to find a few differences if you look hard enough. [PLYWOOD]
3) The Mission: Elsewhere in The Mogannamiverse, a Mission tipster sends along word that the wheels are turning at his Philly cheesesteak joint called Phat Philly in the old Zain's space off the corner of 24th and Valencia. The liquor license notice is up, lights are on into the evening hours and the cheesesteaks are nearing. [PLYWOOD]
4) Mission Bonus: Thanks to a commenter for pointing out that the long-shuttered old Saigon Saigon space on Valencia has recently taken down its plywood covering to show a new facade and new window work. We have no idea if this means that something new is happening down there if they're just shopping the space. Anyone know? [PLYWOOD]
