1) Russian Hill: Just off the corner of Polk and Union, Loving Cup is moving into the little space right next door to Tonic.. According to the folks there, they'll be selling coffee and espresso in addition to frozen yogurt and rice pudding. Oh, and the requisite Bay Area buzzwords are involved too: localorganicallnatural. 2) Mission: To file in the curious category: last week, the shuttered Cafe Prague was spotted to have put forth a liquor license application in the Financial District at a new location. And today, we have a second (separate) license for 2140 Mission (17th/18th) in the old Country Station Sushi space. Are two new locations in the works? [PLYWOOD]
3) Union Square: We've enjoyed following the evolution of Infusion Lounge on their blog. The "ultra-lounge" label is always a bit of a red flag, but lord knows that between the holograms and the bus signs, they've been creating a good deal of buzz on Ellis and Powell. The space is coming together as well, with a lot of flashy design features (the latest being the mosiac above). [PLYWOOD]
4) North Beach: It's been a long time coming, but the new home of North Beach Pizza on Grant and Union is finally showing signs of progress. You'll recall that the pizza place is moving across the street. [PLYWOOD]
5) Bonus Russian Hill: Last but not least, a check-in with the old La Boulange space on Polk. Roland Passot holds the keys to the space, and it's been painted over in the weeks following the shutter.
