Russian Hill: Since Roland Passot and La Folie decided to turn the next door space into a lounge, work continues full-steam and the old Boulange space has been has even gotten a paint job to match La Folie's color scheme. Passot was originally hoping to have it open in March, but no word on the current status. [PLYWOOD]

2) Hayes Valley: There's been lots of action at Otoro, the Japanese restaurant going into the shuttered Laurel's space on Oak. A peek inside (above) reveals that things have moved quickly in the last few months, and now a sushi bar is set up and everything. [PLYWOOD]

3) Hayes Valley: Speaking of projects coming along quickly in the area, Altano Caffe is also getting close. Last we heard, Peach Gagliardi reported that the Italian restaurant was hoping to open by the beginning of March, so it should be in any minute territory. Bonus: the MenuBlog noticed that the place is hiring too. [POST-PLYWOOD]

4) Noe Valley: Down on Church, things remain quiet at Deep Sushi, but a tipster points out that a transfer of ownership notice has been posted, with the same DBA. [PLYWOOD]

5) The Marina: Even though the Tipsy Pig remains Abercrombie center of the city is about to get more downscale. Going into the Hahn's Hibachi space on Steiner is a brick-and-mortar location of ballpark fave Let's Be Frank (see the Chron for more on that) and in the shuttered Pita Pit, a Mediterranean joint called Marina & Kebab is moving in.
