Los Angeles rap group Jurassic 5 reunited last year after more than six years apart. And now that the spirit of getting the band back together is in the air, the six-member troupe has invited a Bay Area record label to bring its main acts on the same stage. The Word of Mouth Reunion Tour stops at Berkeley's Greek Theater on July 11.
Quannum Projects was born in 1992, and its marquee artists DJ Shadow, Blackalicious, Lyrics Born and Lateef the Truthspeaker have since carried intelligent beats and rhymes across the world.
It's incredibly rare to find them in the same city at the same time, let alone on the same bill, so this promises to be a special celebration of some of California's most thought-provoking contributions to hip-hop.
Presale tickets for the Word of Mouth Reunion Tour go on sale at 10 AM on April 3 on Ticketmaster; use the password "quality" to gain access. The general sale follows at 10 AM on April 4.
