Weiner received even more media scrutiny after it was revealed that his wife, Huma Abedin, a long-time aide to Hillary Clinton, is pregnant. Abedin's friends say that she is more saddened than angry over her husband's behavior, and that she'd like to help him, even though she believes he has a long way to go to redeem himself.
Sources speculate that the couple originally listed the apartment around the time Abedin found out about her pregnancy. The duo likely decided to upgrade their digs to accommodate their new addition.
