Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - San Francisco placed wide receiver Arnaz Battle on injured reserve with a foot injury and signed running back Thomas Clayton to the 53-man roster on Saturday.
Clayton was signed because of an ankle injury to backfield mate Frank Gore, who's status for Sunday's game against Miami will be determined on game day, according to head coach Mike Singletary.
Battle played in nine games this season, catching 24 passes for 318 yards with one carry for 18 yards.
