It's apparently the season of hospitals. The vote on SF General, UCSF's new Mission Bay hospital, and now St. Luke's in the Mission has gotten the go-ahead from a blue-ribbon panel to rebuild as an acute care facility. The hospital, which is the only other in SoMa besides SF General, was previously on the brink of being turned into an outpatient clinic, but after a community outcry, the board of directors has apparently changed its tune.
