Storefronting: Levi's in the Castro

They may be moving corporate to Oakland, but Levi's is opening a new storefront in hometown San Francisco's Castro. "It's a perfect fit," said the company's punny president. The grand opening is today at 525 Castro Street, and will be marked by the "People's Premiere" of the Harvey Milk biopic plus large cash grants to neighborhood nonprofits. The iconic jean purveyor's new Castro shop "reflects the character and history of the historic neighborhood" in its restored exterior and Victorian-inspired materials and color palette. Please, tipsters, we're holed up at Curbed SF HQ but we've gotta see this one -- send your first-hand accounts on over.
