Cafe Prague Reopens in the FiDi

Spot an opening for The Dish? Toss in the tip jar, please.

1) Potrero Hill: A few days ago, Jocelyn Bulow opened Pizzanostra in the former Couleur Cafe space. David Bazirgan—also the exec at Chez Papa—heads the kitchen, which specializes in Neapolitan thin crust pizza (see the oven?) and other offerings like focaccia, pasta and antipasti. Only 36 seats are in the dining room, but when the sun is out, there are an additional 45 outside. Open daily for lunch/brunch and dinner. 300 De Haro Street, at 16th; (415) 558-9493; website [EaterWire]

2) Financial District: We touched on Midi earlier this week, and right on schedule, the new FiDi heavyweight will open today. More on Midi in the archives and various local newsletters. 185 Sutter Street, off Kearny; (415) 835-6400; website [EaterWire]

3) Financial District: Pictured above is the new location of Cafe Prague, back after the original shuttered in September. A tipster reports: "We got the polish sausage plate, it was good. The space looks amazing. Only shame is that it is on Merchant which is pretty much a service alley so I was hoping you'd put it up that they are open ...The owner/bartender said that they are having a party the last friday of the month." 424 Merchant Street, between Battery and Sansome; (415) 627-7464 [EaterWire]

4) Hayes Valley: The once-cursed space of 201 Octavia (right next to J's Pots of Soul) is now the home to Mercury, a new cafe offering La Paz coffee, wifi and a few sandwiches and such. 201 Octavia Street, between Page and Lily; (415) 252-7855 [EaterWire]
