Wine Country: Nary a day after we noticed that a number of big-time restaurants are going way over the top this holiday season with ultra-expensive meal specials, Meadowood announced its 12 Days of Christmas extravaganza. And this year, they came to play. For twelve nights in December, each guest chef cooks up a special cuisine from around the world and gets paired with a different vintner.
The pricetag—$1,225 per couple per night—is right up there with the other ginormous splurges, but aside from the (oddly-growing) trendwatching and gawking, we only mention this because the chef lineup they've assembled is pretty ridiculously star-studded, to say the least. The entire 12-day lineup is post-jump, but know that you've got Michael Symon, Roland Passot, Daniel Humm, April Bloomfield, Joachim Splichal, and Team Osteria Mozza all putting in special evenings ... and that's just half of the cast.
