Thousands of delightfully geeky comic book and sci-fi fans descended on San Francisco this weekend for the 25th Annual WonderCon. Selling out for the first time in event history, the three-day convention briefly transformed the Moscone Center and surrounding areas into a full on tribute to all things nerdy throughout the weekend -- think super hero favorites, gaming legends, mildly-NSFW internet memes and who knows what along with the expected legions of costumed Star Wars devotees. Nothing like face paint and a heavy Storm Trooper costume on an unusually hot San Francisco day... Other highlights of San Francisco's answer to San Diego's Comic Con included first glimpses of the highly anticipated upcoming screen adaptations Green Lantern, Thundercats and Doctor Who along with surprise appearances from a string of geek-approved celebs.
