A South Bay neighborhood is on edge after two bold robberies -- minutes apart -- on the same street. Still Gilroy police have no evidence that despite the proximity they are connected.
The first attack happened just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday on a street called Independent Order of Odd Fellows Avenue.
Police say two men got into the back of a taxi and demanded money. They allegedly punched the driver, tried to choke him from behond and got away with some cash.
Five minutes later, in nearly the same spot, investigators say someone robbed another man at knife-point. Officers have not made arrests in either case.
