A Taiwanese company is upset at Apple for biting its style.
Elan Microelectronics Corp., a chip designer, sued the iPhone maker for allegedly infringing on two of its touch screen patents in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, according to our friends at the New York Times.
The company swears it has the rights to Apple's touch screen technology that has become so popular on the iPhone and the iPod Touch.
“We couldn’t find a common viewpoint with Apple, so we decided we had to take action,” Dennis Liu, an Elan spokesman, told the New York Times. He said the companies had been in licensing talks for two years.
The lawsuit also claims that Apple's MacBook also uses technology that infringes on Elan's patents.
