Bay Area Gas Prices Dip

The statewide average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas has decreased 3 cents since last month's AAA survey, but the Bay Area's  average stayed the same with an average of $2.25 per gallon.
 
Northern California gas prices also went down 4 cents to $2.20, which is the same as the statewide average, according to the AAA survey.
 
Of the Northern California metro areas tracked by the AAA, Salinas saw the biggest decrease since last month with an 11-cent drop.

The least expensive gallon of gas in Northern California was found in Tracy, for $2.08.

The AAA Fuel Gauge Report surveys more than 85,000 self-serve stations nationwide.

The national average is at $1.94, which is 1 cent higher than last month.
