Santa Clara, 49ers Strike a Deal for Stadium Plan

The big reveal set for tonight

The City of Santa Clara and the San Francisco 49ers have agreed on a financing plan for a new stadium in the South Bay.

The financial blueprint, hashed out between the city council and the team last week, is expected to be presented at the council meeting Friday at 7 p.m.

The public subsidy for the stadium is expected to come from real estate taxes rather than a direct tax on city residents.

A meeting is scheduled for June 2 for public comment on the proposal.
