A 46-year-old teacher at Saint Genevieve High School in Panorama City was jailed in Los Angeles Friday following his arrest on a felony warrant for possession of child sexual abuse material.
Nain Edrad Doporto, video production and theater director at the school located in the 13000 block of Roscoe Boulevard was taken into custody Wednesday, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
He was being held on more than $43,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department jail records.
An investigation of Doporto was launched after a report was received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and that investigation revealed he was in possession of the illegal material, the LAPD said.
A felony count of possession of child sexual abuse material was filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Doporto is scheduled to be in court on Monday.
