Child, 5, Accidentally Shot, Killed in Marijuana Grow House

Authorities have seized 200 marijuana plants from a Southern California home where a 5-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise says Riverside County sheriff's deputies seized the plants Wednesday from a greenhouse at a home in Nuevo, near Perris. Processed marijuana also was seized.

Sgt. Tyson Voss says a resident told investigators that medical marijuana was being grown but he says the resident lacked the required paperwork.

Authorities also continued to investigate the death of the boy at the home shortly before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities say the shooting appears to have been accidental.

Authorities talked to the boy's parents but no arrests have been made.
