Judge Will Consider Revoking Release of “Pillowcase Rapist”

A judge will consider sending the "Pillowcase Rapist'' back to a California mental hospital.

On Friday, the judge in Santa Clara County set an April 29 revocation hearing for Christopher Hubbart.

Hubbart assaulted some 40 women between 1971 and 1982, using a pillowcase to muffle the screams of some victims.

He's been in and out of prisons and mental hospitals since the 1970s.

Hubbart was released from Coalinga State Hospital last July and is living near Palmdale, northeast of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles County prosecutors requested the revocation hearing. Spokeswoman Jane Robison wouldn't discuss specifics but District Attorney Jackie Lacey says Hubbart is a violent predator who continues to pose a public danger.

A call to his public defender, Jeff Dunn, for comment wasn't immediately returned.
