Marine Wife's Pregnancy Announcement to Husband Goes Viral

One woman’s sweet, unique pregnancy announcement to her Marine husband has gone viral thanks to a video posted on YouTube.

Recently, Kelsey Meadows told her husband, Camp Pendleton Marine Lance Cpl. Cole Meadows, that she was expecting. Cole had just returned home from an at-sea period and was about to deploy with the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group.

Kelsey surprised Cole with a teeny, tiny onesie that read “Daddy’s Hero” on the front. She recorded his reaction to the big news and posted the tender, touching video on YouTube.

As of noon Saturday, the video had nearly 34,000 views online.

In the minute-long video, the Marine is elated to learn he’s going to be a father. Cole lets out a joyous scream and runs to hug his wife after reading the onesie.

Kelsey spoke to NBC 7 on Friday and she said she is now 9 weeks pregnant.

Cole is deployed, but the Lance Cpl. is set to return in April 2014 – the same month their baby is due.
The baby’s exact due date is Apr. 13, Kelsey said.

“He is thrilled!” Kelsey said in her YouTube post. “It’s a tough life to live, but we are so happy.”
