The driver of a dark SUV who was killed in a two-vehicle crash in North Hills was publicly identified Monday.
Francisco Hernandez Rivas, 48, was a North Hills resident, coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz said.
The crash occurred around 5:35 a.m. Sunday morning when a vehicle going north on Haskell Avenue struck a vehicle traveling west on Parthenia Street, said Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.
The SUV driver, now identified as Hernandez Rivas, was pronounced dead at the scene, Lopez said, and the female driver of the a white Lexus walked away from the scene.
The white Lexus ran a red light and caused the deadly crash, the LAPD said.
Four other people in serious condition were rushed to an area hospital, Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Police believe alcohol might have played a role in the accident, and said some empty beer cans were found inside the Lexus, Lopez said.

What appeared to be a crack pipe was also found inside the white Lexus.
Police said they are searching for the driver of the white Lexus, who walked away from the crash and left her four injured passengers behind in the vehicle.
