Police Pursuit of Black Mustang Travels From DTLA to East Pasadena

Police were pursuing a black Ford Mustang in the downtown Los Angeles area Monday night, with the pursuit heading north and ending in East Pasadena. 

Newschopper4 Bravo was over the chase at around 9:35 p.m.

The black car, which was a possible stolen vehicle according to the LAPD, was traveling at a high rate of speed on the the northbound 5 Freeway after transitioning from the eastbound 10 Freeway.

The Los Angeles Police Department momentarily lost track of the vehicle, but the LAPD helicopter spotted the racing car a short time later.

After transitioning north to the 2 Freeway and to the 134 Freeway, before jumping onto the 2 Freeway. The vehicle exited onto Walnut Street.

When the pursuit vehicle exited the freeway in East Pasadena, it flipped onto the wrong side of the street and came to an abruptly halt a short time later.

Two people exited the vehicle, what appeared to be one man and one woman.

A short time later, Newschopper4 Bravo was overhead when the woman was taken into custody around 9:55 p.m.

The search then continued for the man, who had jumped into an underpass.

Police had set up a perimeter, but it was not immediately clear if the man was located.
