President Obama to Visit LA for “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Appearance, Fundraiser

President Barack Obama is scheduled to arrive Thursday afternoon at LAX for a talk show appearance before departing Friday

President Barack Obama will arrive in Los Angeles Thursday for an appearance on the ABC late-night talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live" before leaving the next day for a stop in Arizona.

The "Kimmel" appearance in Hollywood will be Obama's first on the show as president. He appeared on the program via satellite in June 2008.

The White House confirmed Friday that Obama would be in Los Angeles Thursday for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Santa Monica. The Los Angeles Times reported that the event will be hosted by ICM Partners co-founder Chris Silbermann and his wife, Julia Franz. Attending the roundtable discussion will cost $33,400 per couple, The Times reported.

The president is scheduled to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport Thursday afternoon. He will likely spend Thursday night in Los Angeles before flying to Phoenix for a speech at the Phoenix VA Medical Center, according to the White House.

Details regarding possible street closures during the Los Angeles visit were not immediately available.

The visit will be Obama's second to Southern California in two months. He visited friends and played golf in the Coachella Valley in mid-February.

Obama last visited the Los Angeles area in October, attending a pair of fundraisers and announcing the creation of a national monument in the San Gabriel Mountains.

Road closures are expected Thursday afternoon and evening along the president's motorcade route.
