Three children were hurt when a prop fell during a live performance at San Diego’s Junior Theatre Tuesday.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were called to the Casa del Prado Theatre on Village Place in Balboa Park around 12:45 p.m.
Several children were sent to the hospital following a mishap during a performance of “The Magic Treehouse: Dinosaurs Before Dark.”
A large, tree-like prop tipped over on stage according to San Diego Fire-Rescue official Capt. Joe Amador.
“Two minors that were sitting on top of the prop as it fell over,” Amador said.
The 8- to 10-foot prop landed on a third child as well. Adults quickly lifted it off the children.
Three children under the age of 16 were transported to a nearby hospital for non-life threatening injuries, Amador said. He did not go into details about their injuries.
