Teenager Accused of Pointing Laser at Police Helicopter in Long Beach

Laser incidents have been an ongoing problem, and evidence was removed from the home where the arrest was made

A teenager has been arrested after allegedly repeatedly pointing a laser at a police helicopter in Long Beach Thursday night.

The pilot was able to pinpoint the 600 block Junipero Avenue apartment complex where the ray was being shot from, and officers subsequently entered the suspect's residence and took him into custody at around 11 p.m.

Laser incidents have been an ongoing problem, and evidence was removed from the third floor home when the arrest was made. A cockpit video was also taken of the laser strikes.

The 18-year-old man is being held on felony charges, Long Beach Police Department confirmed.
